The Cleveland Browns beat the Detroit Lions in the first preseason game of the NFL preseason Monday night, and the Browns have a chance to beat the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday night to advance to the second round of the playoffs.
The Browns will have two games remaining in the regular season.
First is the second week of the regular-season schedule, starting Thursday, when they play the Chicago Bears.
The first-round bye is on Sunday, so the Browns will start their game against the Lions at noon ET.
If the Browns lose, they would have two weeks to prepare for their second-round matchup with the Falcons.
If the Browns win, the game would be the second game of their second half, so they would play the Falcons on Monday night.
The Browns would then play the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday.
If neither of those games ends up being the game of Thursday night’s slate, Cleveland will host the San Francisco 49ers in a home-and-home series.
The Falcons are coming off their bye week.
They will have to win their final two regular-game games against the Buccaneers and Jaguars, then have a bye week to prepare.
The Bills are the next opponent for Cleveland on Monday.
The Bills have a six-game winning streak at home against Cleveland and the Falcons, but have lost all three games against Atlanta this season.
