A parent should keep a diary for her or his child so they can keep track of what they are doing and not doing.
“You can also keep a calendar on your phone to show your son, for example, when he is in school or a day off.
A diary will also help you with when and where you can talk to your daughter and her mother on the telephone, so that they know that they can talk, too,” said Raja Gokhale, an expert on children and young people.
In some states, such as Delhi, you can be fined if you miss a scheduled school-related appointment or a social function.
A similar diary is recommended by the National Institute of Mental Health and Mental Retardation.
