Posted September 18, 2018 09:53:00 The judge in the Brett Kavanaugh trial has given his strongest indication yet that he will allow the accused to testify about his interactions with the judge, in light of the new allegations that have surfaced against him.
Judge Brett Kavanaugh was not in court Thursday morning but the Associated Press reported that he had met with the accused on Monday.
The judge’s comments come as a flurry of allegations against the former judge are becoming more public, including sexual misconduct and inappropriate behaviour towards his wife.
ABC News reports that the judge’s statement came after a brief recess.
Fox News reports the judge also spoke to the AP.
NBC News has not confirmed the court meeting, but the AP said he told the judge that he was confident the accused could testify.
This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
